With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, she is a trusted advocate and therapist. In this session, Shatiera will share insights into her specialized expertise, drawing from personal experiences with infertility and backed by her extensive training and certification. Her presentation will cover the definition of a infertility diagnosis, causes, risk factors, an overview of treatment options, the impact and grief of infertility on families. Shatiera will also provide a wealth of resources beneficial for professionals and the families they serve. About Shatiera Amankrah, LCSW, LICSW, PMH-C: Shatiera Amankrah is a Clinical Social Worker specializing in Infertility Counseling and Perinatal Mental Health. With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, Shatiera has established herself as a trusted advocate and therapist. Her approach is deeply personal, informed by her own experiences with infertility, and professionally backed by extensive training and certification in infertility counseling and perinatal mental health. Shatiera has a Master's in Social Work from George Mason University, a Bachelor’s in Sociology from Virginia State University, a certificate in Infertility Counseling from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and a Perinatal Mental Health Certification from Postpartum Support International. She is licensed to practice in Virginia and Washington, D.C. Her competence extends to a range of areas, including gestational surrogacy screenings, donor egg and donor sperm screenings, intended parent & donor recipient consultations, pregnancy, postpartum, pregnancy loss, termination for medical reasons, and birth.
