Join PSVa & Meghan Karol, DPT of Movement is Medicine, as we delve into the _ significance of pelvic floor health and its impact on perinatal mental health. This session will cover basic pelvic floor anatomy, norms and common dysfunctions, and the critical role of pelvic health care during pregnancy and postpartum. We will explore the connection between pelvic health and perinatal mental health, emphasizing the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to maternal health care. Attendees will gain valuable insights into how pelvic health care can support mental well-being during the perinatal period and learn when to refer clients for additional support. Meghan will share her expertise, drawing from personal experiences and case studies from her practice, providing a comprehensive overview of pelvic health and its correlation to mental health. About Meghan: After a decade of treating orthopedic, sports medicine, and vestibular conditions, Meghan Karol discovered her passion for women's health, particularly during the childbearing years. She specialized in pregnancy, postpartum, and pelvic health, focusing on issues such as pelvic pain, pain with physical intimacy, and pain related to bladder and bowel function. Meghan values personalized, one-on-one treatment and emphasizes empowering education to help patients manage their recovery and long-term health. As a mother of three boys, she provides practical home exercises and symptom management strategies that fit into busy lives.
