This training includes an in-depth look at Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs). This training is appropriate for any mental health provider that serves people during child-bearing years who would like to expand their knowledge and practice. Objectives include: *Attendees will be able to define and explain the spectrum of PMADs and differential diagnosis criteria for this array of struggles. *Attendees will be able to discuss the unique considerations related to therapeutic needs when working with women pregnant and postpartum. *Attendees will be able to identify and practice implementing screening and assessment tools for use in assessing of PMADs in women pregnant and postpartum. *Attendees will learn treatment options and Path to Wellness in treating PMADs. *Attendees will gain insight into Substance Abuse considerations and screening related to pregnancy and the co-morbidity of Substance Abuse and PMADs. *Attendees will be able to discuss the importance of self-care and professional considerations unique to working with this population of women pregnant and postpartum. Presenter Sultana Karim is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). She works for Postpartum Support Virginia as the Director of Community Resources. She has attended multiple trainings through 2020 Mom, Seleni Institute, and Postpartum Support International. She has created and facilitated trainings on perinatal mental health.
